The South Carolina Advanced Research Park is the owner of a pre-packaged, complete Phoenix Belt Filter Press designed to dewater solids from a 0.5 MGD activated sludge plant.  The Phoenix press was shipped complete on a skid with a sludge feed pump, polymer system, wash water pump, air compressor, and control panel.  The 0.5 meter press is designed to handle up to 50 GPM of solids and produce 15% to 18% solids.

The Phoenix belt press receives sludge from an aerobic digester that is an integral part of a USFilter Davis Products (Davco) Wastewater Treatment Plant.  The press was designed to be easy to install and operate with a single source responsibility.  Phoenix Process Equipment now offers the same package in a one meter press designed to dewater a higher capacity.

Sample testing is available for determination of the appropriate press size for applications including digested, primary, and waste activated sludge from wastewater treatment plants or alum sludge from water plants.
